Indira Gandhi National Open University School of Management Studies conducts IGNOU MBA Programme examination twice a year for admission into the following programs offered by the University through its study centers and regional centers all over India Master of Business Administration (MBA) Diploma in Management (DIM) Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDIM) Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management (PGDHRM) Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Management (PGDFM) Post Graduate Diploma in Operations Management (PGDOM) Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing Management (PGDMM) Eligibility Bachelor's Degree with 3 years Supervisory / Managerial / Professional Experience or Professional Degree in Engineering / Technology / Medicine / Architecture / Law / Pharmacy or Professional qualifications in Accountancy, Cost & Works Accountancy, Company Secretaryship etc. or a Master's degree in any subject The University may consider other degrees to this list of equivalent professional degree/qualification, if required. AICTE Recognition The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) wide its letter F No. AICTE/Academic/MOU-DEC/2005 dt. May 13, 2005 has specified that the Master of Business Administration (MBA) from IGNOU is recognized by AICTE. IGNOU MBA Application Procedure - Student Handbook & Prospectus would be available at all Regional Centres, Study Centres, and IGNOU ARMY, NAVY, AIR FORCE AND ASSAM RIFLES Recognised Regional Centres. Student Handbook and Prospectus is also available on IGNOU website. The candidates downloading the Form from website are required to send a Demand Draft for Rs. 550/- (Rupees five hundred fifty only) drawn in favour of IGNOU payable at New Delhi. The IGNOU MBA Programme consists of 21 courses in all. These comprise of : * All the courses in PGDIM (Eleven Courses) i.e. MS-1 to MS-11 * Five courses from any one of the specialisation streams * Compulsory Courses (MS-91, MS-95) and one elective course (MS-92/93/94/96/97) * Project Course (MS-100) equivalent to 2 courses. Admission to the MBA will be done on the basis of the score obtained in the OPENMAT, conducted all over India twice a year. Minimum age as on 1st Jan. of the Academic Year No bar Minimum Course Duration 5 Semestrs Maximum Course Duration No Time Bar Program Fee Rs. 700/- per course. Rs. 1400/- for MS100 (Total 21 courses) Medium of Instruction English As per the IGNOU Student Handbook and Prospectus for Management Programs (2005 and in other sources), for the sake of clarification, IGNOU suggested the following: a) 'Professional' means a person holding a degree in Engineering, Law, Medicine, Accountancy, etc. b) 'Experience' means work experience of a person during or after acquiring the qualification as specified above. Further, Supervisory experience means that the person is in the supervisory cadre and supervising after the work of a minimum of three subordinates reporting to him/her. Managerial experience means that the person is concerned with decision making 'Experience' means work experience of a person during or after acquiring the qualifications above. Note: Alongwith the above eligibility criteria, a student must have qualified the OPENMAT Test conducted by the university. Candidates who are appearing or have appeared in any qualifying examination but their results are not declared on or before the last dates for submission of Application Forms for Admission to Management Programme will not be eligible.
